About The Position

Visiting Angels of Boerne is hiring Home Health Aides to provide non-medical, private-duty in-home living assistance to elderly and disabled clients in the Hill Country area. The work includes helping clients with daily living, personal care, household tasks, transportation, meals, and companionship. The organization offers continuing education in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care. Full-time, part-time, PRN, and several shift lengths are offered.

Requirements

• Pass a background check.
• Have a valid driver’s license or ID and auto insurance.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Desire to serve others.
• Knowledge of emergency responses and first aid.
• Ability to perform light housekeeping and cooking, including attention to dietary restrictions.
• Ability to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Be respectful and compassionate.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have strong ethics.
• Have physical endurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming.
• Plan and prepare meals, observing dietary restrictions.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry.
• Help clients cope with the routines of everyday life.
• Provide basic companionship and moral support.
• Transport clients to and from appointments.
