About The Position

Visiting Angels Anniston is seeking compassionate Home Health Aides to support senior adults and others in need in Anniston and surrounding communities. The role provides companionship and assistance with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, shopping, and transportation. Caregivers may support clients with prescribed medication and routine exercises, and are expected to report unusual incidents and respond appropriately to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available to help caregivers develop their skills. Shift options include full time and PRN, with varied shifts.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and a true caregiver disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients when they are able.
Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
