Home Health Aide
About The Position
Tel Hai is hiring a part-time Home Health Aide for its Home Care team at a nonprofit retirement community in Honey Brook, Pennsylvania. The role includes housekeeping and provides in-home support to residents, assisting with daily activities, health needs, transportation, and household tasks while respecting residents’ individual needs and preferences and observing safety and infection-control precautions. The scheduled hours are 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, plus 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. every other Saturday. The posting also notes that PRN Caregivers are being hired for the Home Care Department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have held a current, valid driver's license for at least the past two years.
- Must be comfortable working on a computer and have general computer knowledge, such as Outlook.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in geriatric care through employment, volunteering, or personal experience is preferred.
- CPR/BLS and First Aid certification preferred, or must be obtained within six months of the date of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, and managing incontinence, while observing safety and infection-control precautions and respecting individual needs and preferences.
- Assist residents with daily tasks, including telephone use, laundry, housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation to and from appointments and activities.
- Support residents’ health with accurate blood pressure checks, prescribed dietary supplements, encouragement of exercise and participation in activities, and additional assistance during illness as directed by the Supervisor.
- Provide transportation for resident errands and appointments.
