About The Position

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers to support older people in the Brisbane Bayside, Logan Valley, Metro, North, South, South East and West Moreton areas. The role involves helping aged-care clients maintain their homes, live independently for longer, and enhance their wellbeing. Opportunities are available from entry level to Certificate III level; Certificate III applicants must have an Ageing or Aged Care qualification. Roles are casual or permanent part-time, with no overnight or weekend shifts, although public holiday shifts may be available over Christmas. Care Workers provide home-help and personal-care services, including housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping, assistance with getting up, showering and dressing, medication assistance, mobility and therapy goals, and complex care for clients with high care needs, such as dementia. The role also includes social and emotional support, transport to activities or appointments, and respite support for family carers. Workers operate independently, build positive relationships with clients and families, and seek manager support when needed. Applicants need a valid Australian driver’s licence and their own insured, roadworthy vehicle. Preferred candidates must complete a National Police check and Work Rights check, and confirm their COVID-19 vaccination status before commencing. Vaccination is not mandatory but is highly recommended. Silverchain describes its care as safe, personal, connected and effective, and states that it is accredited against national health and aged-care standards. As a not-for-profit, it reinvests funds in research and innovative care models. Training and education programs are available to support career development.
