About The Position
Eddy Visiting Nurse & Rehab Association is hiring a part-time Specialty RN to provide care to patients in their homes in a designated area of Saratoga County. The position uses an interdisciplinary approach and focuses on helping patients and caregivers understand diagnoses and medications, build independence with treatments, and manage chronic illnesses. Nurses care for one patient at a time and can develop skills in wound vacs, advanced wound care, IV care, disease management, and more. After training, the RN can start and end the day from home. The organization provides a comprehensive home health care orientation and a supportive work environment, including access to clinical nurse specialists, computer training, assistance obtaining insurance authorizations, and RN supervisors available by phone. Minimal weekend and holiday rotations are required.
Requirements
- NYS RN license and registration.
- At least 1 year of RN acute care experience.
- Valid NYS RN and DMV licensure.
- Strong communication skills for working with interdisciplinary team members and family members.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Teach patients and caregivers about diagnoses and medications and support independence with treatments and chronic illness self-management.
- Work within an interdisciplinary approach to care and discuss complex cases as a team.
- Provide care to one patient at a time.
- Develop skills in wound vacs, advanced wound care, IV care, and disease management.
