About The Position

Piedmont Crossing, an EveryAge continuing care retirement community in Thomasville, North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Home Care Companion. The Home Care team provides personalized support that helps older adults thrive in their own homes while maintaining purpose, dignity, and independence. This role centers on companionship, emotional support, assistance with daily activities, and meaningful engagement to enhance residents’ quality of life.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach and a genuine desire to serve older adults.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working or volunteering in a skilled nursing, assisted living, senior living, or customer service environment.
• Experience providing companionship or support services to older adults.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with residents through companionship and conversation.
• Assist residents with daily routines and non-medical support services.
• Plan and participate in recreational, social, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Accompany residents to appointments, errands, outings, and community events as needed.
• Help coordinate resources and solutions for residents’ day-to-day concerns.
• Provide light housekeeping and environmental support to maintain a safe, comfortable living space.
• Assist with meal preparation, food service, and other hospitality-related duties.
• Observe and report concerns or changes in resident well-being to the appropriate supervisor.
