About The Position

Piedmont Crossing, an EveryAge continuing care retirement community in Thomasville, NC, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Home Care Companion. The role provides personalized, non-medical support to residents in their homes, focusing on companionship, emotional support, daily activities, and meaningful engagement that enhances residents’ quality of life and supports their independence.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current valid driver's license with an excellent driving record required.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a genuine desire to serve older adults.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working or volunteering in a skilled nursing, assisted living, senior living, or customer service environment is strongly preferred.
Experience providing companionship or support services to older adults is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Build positive relationships with residents through companionship and conversation.
Assist residents with daily routines and non-medical support services.
Plan and participate in recreational, social, educational, and enrichment activities.
Accompany residents to appointments, errands, outings, and community events as needed.
Help coordinate resources and solutions for day-to-day resident concerns.
Provide light housekeeping and environmental support to maintain a safe, comfortable living space.
Assist with meal preparation, food service, and other hospitality-related duties.
Observe and report concerns or changes in resident well-being to the appropriate supervisor.
