About The Position

On camera, every detail matters. As an HMUA (Hair & Makeup Artist), you'll help create the polished, authentic, and camera-ready looks that bring our productions to life. You'll work across a wide variety of brands, talent, products, and creative concepts—from natural UGC-style content to elevated commercial campaigns. This role requires more than technical beauty skills. You'll need to understand the creative direction, adapt your work to different lighting and camera environments, work efficiently under production timelines, and know how to make each talent look and feel confident on set. Because we're producing content at a high volume, we're looking for someone who can move quickly without compromising quality—and who brings positive energy, creativity, and professionalism to every shoot.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Hair & Makeup Artist, Makeup Artist, Hairstylist, or similar role.
  • Experience in commercial, advertising, photography, television, film, social media, or editorial production is highly preferred.
  • A portfolio showcasing your hair and makeup work is required.
  • Strong understanding of makeup application, hair styling, skin preparation, color matching, and camera-ready beauty.
  • Knowledge of how different lighting conditions and cameras affect makeup and hair is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of talent, skin tones, hair textures, and personal styles.
  • You can interpret a creative brief and translate it into a finished look.
  • You have a strong eye for detail and understand how small adjustments can make a significant difference on camera.
  • You're comfortable experimenting with different looks and adapting quickly when creative direction changes.
  • You can work efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • You understand the pace of commercial production and are comfortable working across multiple talent and looks in a single day.
  • You're prepared, organized, punctual, and dependable.
  • You understand that your role isn't just about hair and makeup—it's also about creating a great experience for talent and crew.
  • You bring positive energy to production, communicate clearly, and remain calm when things get busy.
  • You're someone who sees a challenge and immediately starts looking for a solution.
  • You're constantly learning, experimenting, and staying current with beauty, hair, fashion, and social media trends.
  • You take pride in your work and are always looking for ways to elevate the final result.
  • You don't wait for someone to point out what needs to be fixed—you notice it, take ownership, and make it better.

Responsibilities

  • Execute hair and makeup looks based on creative briefs, mood boards, brand guidelines, and production requirements.
  • Create a range of looks from natural and effortless to polished, editorial, glamorous, or character-driven.
  • Ensure talent remains camera-ready throughout filming and make necessary touch-ups between takes.
  • Adapt makeup application to different skin types, tones, textures, and facial features.
  • Work closely with Producers, Directors, Creative Strategists, Set Designers, Wardrobe Stylists, and talent to achieve the desired overall look.
  • Review creative references and understand how hair and makeup contribute to the story and brand aesthetic.
  • Communicate openly with the production team and make adjustments based on creative direction.
  • Bring your own creative perspective when you see an opportunity to elevate the look.
  • Review shoot briefs and talent requirements ahead of production.
  • Prepare, organize, and transport all necessary hair and makeup products and tools.
  • Ensure your kit is fully stocked, clean, sanitized, and production-ready.
  • Anticipate potential beauty, hair, or skin-related needs before they become production issues.
  • Monitor talent continuously during filming and provide timely touch-ups.
  • Adjust makeup and hair based on lighting, camera angles, wardrobe changes, and environmental conditions.
  • Maintain consistency across multiple takes and scenes.
  • Work efficiently during quick changes and high-volume production days.
  • Help talent feel comfortable, confident, and prepared before stepping in front of the camera.
