About The Position

The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of History Adjunct Instructor for the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to assist in further development of the UNT Dallas History program. Requirements

Master's degree in History with at least 18 graduate hours in History.
Outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum U.S. History, Texas History, and World Civilization courses (both face-to-face and online).
Strong teaching skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

Ph.D. in History with significant experience in higher education.
Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.

Responsibilities

Plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
Undertake the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours.
Provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate History courses within UNT Dallas’s History major, including core-curriculum U.S. History (2610-U.S. History to 1865, and 2620-U.S. History since 1865), Texas History Survey (2305), and World Civilization courses (1050-World Civilization I, 1060-World Civilization II), and there may be an opportunity to teach upper-level courses.
Use texts and meet certain content parameters set by the Department of History.
Include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and compile data on those assessment criteria.
