Histology Technician - Pathology - Per Diem 8 Hour Day Shift (Union)

About The Position
The Histology Technician processes tissues and fluids submitted to the Pathology service, prepares and stains tissue slides, and ensures slides are available promptly for Pathologist review and interpretation. This is a per-diem, 8-hour day-shift position at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, part of Keck Medicine of USC.
Requirements
- One year of experience in an acute care facility setting.
- Three years of clinical training in an approved Histology Training Program.
- Prior experience with specialized stains, cutting, embedding, computer use, quality control, QC evaluation, inventory control, preventative maintenance, and quality improvement.
Nice To Haves
- An AA or AS degree in a related field.
- Valid Histology ASCP Certification.
Responsibilities

- Ensure slides are available in a timely manner for Pathologist review and interpretation.
