About The Position
Michael Baker International is seeking to hire a Highways Intern for the Summer of 2027. The successful Highways Intern will work under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager in the Madison and/or Milwaukee, WI office supporting the transportation department with technical duties and daily activities. In this internship, you may also have the opportunity to work on-site under the direction of a Construction Manager assisting with and documenting construction inspection activities, researching and solving problems in the field, and assuring conformance to plans/specifications.
Requirements
- Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar program
- Focus in Transportation Practice preferred
- Software proficiency – Microsoft Office
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
Responsibilities
- Support the transportation department with technical duties and daily activities.
- Assist with and document construction inspection activities.
- Research and solve problems in the field.
- Assure conformance to plans/specifications.
