Hoyle Tanner has an opening for an Entry Level Highway Engineer in our Ground Transportation Division. Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering (MS preferred)
- EIT/EI preferred, or ability to obtain
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
- Design and preparation of calculations, plans and specification for State and Municipal Highway projects
- Complete assignments with direction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager
- Work as part of an integrated, multi-discipline team to solve technical challenges
- Use software and other tools to develop designs and organize work
- Gather, research and maintain engineering records including tests, drawings and field data
- May attend inspections, site visits and meetings with clients and contractors for highway projects under construction
- May be responsible for construction observation and limited administration
- Read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills
- Increase knowledge through continuous learning within and outside the organization including pursuit of an advanced engineering degree and/or certification
