About The Position

Hoyle Tanner is seeking motivated interns for its Highway Group within the Ground Transportation Division. The internship can be based in the Chelmsford, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Manchester, NH; or Burlington, VT office. It is a paid internship, with a start date anticipated in May 2027; earlier start dates may be available on a limited basis. Interns assist with highway project planning, design, inspection, and construction support, as well as drafting, engineering calculations, estimates, reporting, and project coordination.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a BSCE program is preferred.
• EIT is preferred, or the ability to obtain it.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with planning, design, inspection, and construction support for highway projects.
• Prepare CADD drawings and contract plans.
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Attend site visits for projects under construction.
• Compile technical reports and project documentation.
• Support project meetings and coordination efforts.
