About The Position

GradePower Learning Largo is looking for an upbeat, reliable, enthusiastic, and dynamic part-time tutor to help students succeed on their FAST tests or SAT/ACT. This position offers flexible scheduling, $20-$23/hour, and no planning required. Candidates must be comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade and proficient in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. This role is perfect for individuals who love working with students, enjoy math and language, and are passionate about helping others build their skills. SAT/ACT tutoring experience is an asset. All lessons are pre-planned, and applicants will receive full training in the company's proprietary philosophy and methods.

Requirements

• Comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade
• Comfortable with Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 math
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills
• Reliable
• Must be able to commute to the Largo, FL location
• Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory

Nice To Haves

• SAT/ACT tutoring experience
• Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a college/university
• Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching in-person
• Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post-lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
• Helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem
