About The Position
GradePower Learning Palm Harbor is seeking an upbeat, reliable, enthusiastic, and dynamic part-time tutor to work in a rewarding teaching environment. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with students, have a passion for numbers, equations, and language, and are dedicated to helping others improve their skills in these areas. The role involves teaching students in grades 9-12, with a focus on Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 math, as well as English. A key feature of this role is that lesson planning is not required, as all lessons are pre-planned, and applicants will receive full training in the company's proprietary methods.
Requirements
- Comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade
- Comfortable with Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 math
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Must be able to commute to the Palm Harbor location
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills
Nice To Haves
- SAT/ACT tutoring experience is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a college/university is preferred
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level is preferred
Responsibilities
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching in-person
- Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
- Helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem
- Overcoming academic hurdles and realizing inner potential
