Catholic High School Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time High School Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom at its Highlands Ranch center near Denver, Colorado. The role is 13 hours per week, with classes potentially including History, Literature, and Religion. The academy provides curriculum, grading guidelines, and training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Tutors prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured Socratic classroom environment. Center hours are Mondays and Thursdays only, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Childcare/nursery is provided. Staff complete a background check and mandatory training. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required. The academy states that no additional vacation days are given, with accommodations for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Deep love for the Catholic faith and living the faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Complete a background check and mandatory training.
- Willingness to prepare for classes at home.
Nice To Haves
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
- Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school; this is not required.
