Catholic High School Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time High School Teacher to teach in a classical Catholic classroom at its Highlands Ranch center near Denver, Colorado. The role is 13 hours per week, with classes potentially including History, Literature, and Religion. Instruction takes place in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Tutors prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment. Curriculum, grading guidelines, and training in instruction and classroom management are provided. Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required. Childcare and nursery care are provided. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and live the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff must complete a background check and mandatory training. The center is open Mondays and Thursdays only, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No additional vacation days are provided; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Willingness to complete a background check and mandatory training.
Nice To Haves
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Experience in Catholic parish ministry.
- Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
