About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Catholic High School Teacher for the 2026–27 academic year at its Chicagoland center near Lemont, Illinois. The position is approximately 8 hours per week, with classes potentially including Algebra, Biology, and Religion. Instruction takes place in a classical, Catholic, formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Hours are between 8:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., with some work required at home. Teachers must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment.

Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required. Curriculum, grading guidelines, and training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards are provided. Childcare/nursery is provided. The position is hourly. No additional vacation days are given; accommodations are made for sick days as needed. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. All staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.

Requirements

• Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
• Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Willingness to prepare for classes at home.
• Clear background check.

• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
• Parish ministry experience.
• Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
• Experience teaching one's own children.
• Experience teaching in a classical or private school.

Responsibilities
