Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School alumni will be recognized as lifelong learners, inspirational community and professional leaders, and committed to a purpose beyond self. All teachers at CRB will be assigned courses in their subject area(s) of expertise and are expected to work alongside other teachers in their subject area as well as administrators. There will be additional duties such as Study Hall, Office Hours, Lunch Duty, and Hall Duty, for example. They will not be assigned more than 6 out of 8 periods per day plus lunch. The English teacher will be assigned 9th grade and one other grade, based on the discretion of the Department Chair and the Principal. In general, the job begins in August and ends in June with possible opportunities for summer employment for an additional stipend. In 2026, the first day of the school year for faculty is August 31, 2026, which is the start of Staff Orientation. New teachers are expected to attend summer training held by the Cristo Rey Network in July. Expenses for this training are covered by the school.
