High School Part-Time Math & Science Tutor Needed!
About The Position
GradePower Learning Cary is seeking a part-time High School Math & Science Teacher who is motivated by mathematics, sharp with science, and excited by equations. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and dynamic, with a strong background in Math and comfort teaching students in 9th to 12th grade across all levels, including advanced functions, calculus, and data management. This role is perfect for individuals who love working with students, enjoy numbers and equations, and are passionate about helping others build their skills. Teacher-tutors do not need to lesson plan as all lessons are pre-planned, and applicants will receive full training in GradePower Learning's proprietary philosophy and methods. The position is in-person and requires commuting to the learning center.
Requirements
- Strong background in Math
- Comfortable teaching students in 9th to 12th grade, at all levels
- Comfortable teaching advanced functions, calculus and data management
- Reliable
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of the current 9th to 12th grade math and science curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a 9th to 12th grade (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Must be able to commute to the location
- Background check is mandatory

- A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred
Responsibilities
- Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
- Teaching online and in-person
- Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
- Filling in post-lesson notes
- Completing daily student communication updates
- Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
- Helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem
