About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors of Central Connecticut is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic educator to provide personalized tutoring in high school Math and Science for students in grades 9–12. The tutor will serve students in Newtown, Connecticut, offering in-home and in-person instruction based on the Connecticut curriculum. Instruction should address each student's learning needs, build understanding and confidence, and support academic achievement. Tutors have autonomy over their schedules and student loads and collaborate with parents and colleagues to support student progress.

Requirements

• Passion for teaching high school Math and/or Science (grades 9–12).
• Meet at least one of the following: hold current, valid registration with the Connecticut State Department of Education; be a qualified teacher in the United States or in the process of becoming one; be a teacher candidate pursuing a Bachelor of Education; or have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. or Canadian university.
• Strong subject-matter expertise in high school Math and/or Science.
• Genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities
