About The Position

Snyder High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated English teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while fostering a love for literature and language. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification in English for grades 9-12.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the high school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
  • Passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to appreciate and engage with diverse texts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives.
  • Create lesson plans that encourage student participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that respects and values diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to support school-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Supervise and support extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs, writing workshops, or drama productions.
  • Uphold school policies and contribute to a safe and respectful learning environment.
