Challenge Preparatory Charter School (Challenge Prep) is seeking a High School Earth Science Teacher for the 26-27 school year. Since its founding in 2010, Challenge Prep has served over 1200 students from Kindergarten to 12th grade across three sites in Far Rockaway, Queens. The school's mission is to prepare students for academic excellence, mastery of NY State Learning Standards, and career aspirations. Challenge fosters intellectual, aesthetic, social, emotional, and ethical development, preparing students to be responsible 21st-century citizens. The school offers a rigorous instructional program with a focus on technology, social-emotional learning, field experiences, career counseling, and college coursework. Collaboration across all sites is expected to support all scholars. The Earth Science Teacher reports to the Principal and is responsible for instructing students in Earth Science, including the composition, structure, and properties of matter, and how materials interact with each other and energy. The role involves preparing engaging lesson plans, educating students at all levels, and potentially conducting research. The teacher will instruct in geology, nature, the environment, meteorology, oceans, and other related subjects.
