About The Position

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP), a top ten Girl Scout Council in the country, is looking for High Challenge Course Supervisor to join the Mission Delivery team. Specifically supervising activities at camp properties located in Schuylkill County (Camp Wood Haven), Carbon (Camp Mosey Wood), Montgomery (Camp Laughing Waters and Camp Valley Forge), Leigh (Camp Mountain House), and Philadelphia (Camp Shelly Ridge) Counties.

High Challenge Course Supervisors serve as the main consultant for troops, service units, council sponsored programs, and outside groups by implementing and facilitating high challenge courses on Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania’s camp properties.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must enjoy working with children
• Must have access to own transportation
• Ability to travel from camp to camp, based on need
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds
• Ability to pass GSEP High Challenge Course Facilitator Training and maintain training
• Ability to pass GSEP High Challenge Supervisor Training
• Ability to maintain physical abilities necessary for the job
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to creatively deliver Girl Scout programming, specifically high challenge course programming
• Ability to work with girls of diverse populations
• Help maintain the safety of all participants and staff
• Ability to supervise other staff

Responsibilities

• Delivering programming on high challenge courses on GSEP properties where assigned.
• Acting as a liaison between the site and Program Manager to ensure the programming needs are met.
• Supervising all activities on the high challenge course
• Assigning positions to all high challenge facilitators on duty
• Making final judgment calls on when it becomes unsafe for the program to continue. (i.e. weather condition, equipment conditions)
