About The Position

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Medical-Surgical unit. The role involves providing med/surg level care to patients 18 years and older. Candidates must possess an active Hawaii State RN license by the start of the assignment. Flexibility is required regarding shift lengths and days, as there is no guarantee of hours or shift preference. The nurse may also be required to float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units. The unit has approximately 50 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 in the Medical unit. Standard professional nursing attire is expected, with no specific scrub colors required, and closed-toe shoes must be worn.

Requirements

• Active State of Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment.
• 2+ years of med surg or higher level of care experience.
• BLS required.
• Must be flexible with shift lengths and days.
• Must be flexible with shift preference.
• Professional nursing attire.
• Closed-toe shoes.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide med/surg level care to patients 18 and over.
• Float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as needed.
• Utilize equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
