About The Position
BrightStar Care of Valparaiso is looking for a caring, reliable CAREGIVER / HOME HEALTH AIDE / DSP to service a particular client in the Valparaiso, IN area. We are specifically interested in hiring individuals who have prior experience with caring for clients with traumatic brain injuries and mental health concerns. The ability to adhere to a specific safety plan is crucial. The ideal candidate availability would include approximately 11am to 4pm, Monday through Thursday.
Requirements
- Over 18 years of age
- High school graduate or GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Prior experience with caring for clients with traumatic brain injuries
- Prior experience with caring for clients with mental health concerns
- Ability to adhere to a specific safety plan
Responsibilities
- Respite and family relief
- Assistance with hobbies and pastimes
- Companionship for those condition compromises their ability to stay alone, such as individuals living with dementia
- Laundry and light housekeeping
- Grocery Shopping and meal preparation
- Errands
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
- Medication reminders
- Transferring, positioning, and ambulation
