About The Position

The Hepatology Access & Reimbursement Manager (H-ARM) role requires individuals with a strong passion for patient access and the ability to thrive in a complex environment. Key skills include problem-solving, effective collaboration, exemplary customer engagement, business ownership, and a nuanced understanding of reimbursement and access technicalities. This role supports GSK's emerging hepatology portfolio by ensuring appropriate patient access to GSK Hepatology products. Responsibilities include educating providers on payer coverage, coding, and payment policies, and assisting them in understanding GSK Patient Support Programs. The H-ARM will also interface with internal teams such as Payer Account Managers, Hepatology Specialty Pharmacy Account Directors, and Hepatology Sales professionals. Success in this role requires a demonstrated track record in a matrix environment and effective leadership skills. The role involves analyzing access/reimbursement issues and opportunities for GSK’s hepatology portfolio, providing product access/reimbursement expertise to offices, educating field teams, coordinating with third parties (including hubs) on access/reimbursement issues, and providing subject matter expertise on reimbursement barriers to patient access.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to travel up to 60% including overnights
  • Must live within the territory
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the areas including: Field Reimbursement or Specialty/Biologics Field Sales (HCP administered or Specialty Pharmacy provided) or Payer Marketing or Patient Support Programs)
  • Demonstrated track record of success working in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills

  • In larger geographies the candidate should live within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport.
  • 6+ years’ experience in one or more of the areas including: Field Reimbursement or Specialty or Biologics Field Sales (HCP administered or Specialty Pharmacy provided) or Payer Marketing or Patient Support Programs
  • Experience in Hepatology or Gastroenterology with an understanding of the patient’s diagnostic journey.
  • Experience working with Centers of Excellence and/or complex healthcare systems within geographical foot-print.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting product launces in rare disease or highly specialized therapies with complex patient access and treatment journeys.
  • Demonstrated cultural fluency to effectively engage HCPs and staff treating diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of the payer environment including state, federal, and private third-party; payer reimbursement methodologies ; and payer policies for HCP and self-administered drugs.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer focus with building relationships, issue identification and resolution, problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Evidence of the ability to operate independently and handle multiple projects with a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to operate successfully as a leader in a matrix environment without direct reports.
  • Organized, strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Knowledge of provider office and hospital outpatient department reimbursement environments, regulations, customers, and account-based planning.
  • Knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy access process.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Commercial, Medicare Parts A, B, C, D and state Medicaid reimbursement dynamics.
  • Understanding of HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding regulations.
  • Experience working with HUB or reimbursement call centers in support of patient access.

Responsibilities

  • Supports access to GSK Hepatology products for appropriate patients.
  • Educates providers on payer coverage, coding and payment policies related to GSK specialty products.
  • Helps providers understand GSK Patient Support Programs intended to help appropriate patients access GSK hepatology medicines.
  • Interfaces internally with Payer Account Managers, Hepatology Specialty Pharmacy Account Directors and Hepatology Sales professional teams.
  • Analyzes access/reimbursement issues and opportunities, related to GSK’s hepatology portfolio.
  • Provides offices product access/reimbursement expertise.
  • Provides access/reimbursement education to field teams.
  • Coordinates on access/reimbursement issues with third parties including hubs.
  • Supports patient access to the products by providing subject matter expertise on reimbursement issues that may be barriers to product access.
