The East Asian Studies Program and the Office of Global Engagement at Western Washington University are seeking qualified candidates for the Henry G. Schwarz Visiting Lecturer in Mongolian Studies position for the winter academic quarter of 2028 (December 16, 2027 - March 15, 2028). This is a part-time (0.45 FTE) appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one 5-credit course in any academic discipline, with a focus on the study of Mongolia. Additionally, the lecturer will dedicate 3 hours per week to relevant professional service, including engagement with the Western Libraries Mongolia Collection and the promotion of Mongolian Studies within the campus and local communities. The Visiting Lecturer is expected to be current in their discipline, actively engage students in their learning, maintain high standards for course content, provide feedback on coursework and examinations, and be available to students through regularly scheduled office hours in a designated location. They will also facilitate student evaluations of their course using standard University forms.
