About The Position

The Division of Hematology and Oncology and the Comprehensive Cancer Center in the School of Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks applicants committed to an academic career in hematology and oncology with a focus on gastrointestinal oncology. Responsibilities include teaching, clinical services, and clinical and/or laboratory-based research. Appointments will be at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, tenure-earning, tenured, or non-tenure earning, commensurate with experience. The Division is poised for rapid growth with significant investment from the Department, School, and the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, and is committed to the growth of its hematology and oncology programs. Faculty have access to outstanding interdisciplinary programs including the UAB CTSI, the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance, and flagship programs in Genomics/personalized medicine, advanced medical imaging, outcomes and effectiveness research, and survivorship.

Requirements

  • MD degree or pertinent PhD degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in oncology and/or hematology (for physician candidates)
