About The Position

The Helper 3 is responsible for performing helper duties in support of an assigned crew. The role assists workers by providing tools, supplies, and equipment; handling materials; and maintaining tools, equipment, buildings, and grounds. The position requires knowledge of applicable safety rules, fire protection, and the proper use and care of hand, electric power, and pneumatic tools. The job description lists three years of industrial construction experience as preferred.

Requirements

• Knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform the listed physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Follow applicable safety rules and demonstrate knowledge of fire protection.
• Use and care for basic tools, including hand, electric power, and pneumatic tools.
• Provide workers with necessary tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Load and unload materials and equipment, including onto and off vehicles, using safe and efficient material-handling practices.
• Assist with maintaining equipment and tools.
• Perform building and ground maintenance and handle trash.
• Troubleshoot minor tool or equipment problems and notify the foreman when further assistance is needed.
