Heavy Equipment Shop Service Apprentice
About The Position
NED, LLC. (National Equipment Dealers) is a heavy equipment dealership with more than 30 years of industry experience in equipment sales, rentals, and customer support. The company services off-road heavy construction equipment, including excavators, material handlers, wheel loaders, and other off-highway trucks and equipment. Its represented brands include Hyundai Construction Equipment, Bell Off-Road Trucks, Manitou, Sakai, and Dynapac. This full-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and pays $20 to $21 per hour. The role involves diagnosing, testing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment and its systems, as well as documenting work in asset management and work-order systems. Employment offers are conditioned on successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and background check.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in heavy equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnostics and manufacturer diagnostic software.
- Proficiency in hydraulics and hydraulic repair.
- Proficiency in electrical systems.
- Proficiency in pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in diesel engines.
Nice To Haves
- Cummins certification is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, test, and perform equipment start-ups.
- Inspect low- to high-voltage electrical systems and perform moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
- Diagnose fault codes and complete necessary repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Keep detailed records of work performed in asset management and work-order systems.
- Record and track time worked.
- Take photos and videos of repairs to accompany detailed work logs.
- Assist the service manager with additional duties as needed.
