About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work on construction projects. The successful candidate will operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to help ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. The Operator will work closely with crew members and subcontractors, maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, identify and resolve issues, and provide on-the-job training to new operators as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational training in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting.
• Experience with government contracts and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment to move materials, earth, and heavy objects.
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed.
• Communicate with crew members and subcontractors to help ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors and keep them informed about project schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects.
• Provide on-the-job training to new operators as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
