About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is hiring an experienced Night Shift Excavator Operator for a union position in a transfer station environment. The role follows a rotating schedule: four days on and three days off, followed by three days on and four days off. Pay is $24.33 per hour, paid weekly. Full benefits begin after 30 days. Boots, uniforms, and safety gear are provided, and the position includes a 401(k).

The operator uses excavators and other heavy equipment to load transfer trailers and move, push, and manage waste materials. The role involves inspecting equipment, performing basic maintenance, following safety procedures and site traffic patterns, and meeting production goals while operating safely. The work requires overnight shifts and may take place outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of excavator or heavy equipment experience.
• Ability to work overnight shifts.

• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating yellow iron equipment is preferred.
• Waste, landfill, demolition, construction, or recycling experience is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
