About The Position

Blue View Builder is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in helical pier and hollow bar pile installation to join its field team in Oceanside, California. The position involves operating and maintaining heavy equipment at active construction sites and supporting grading, excavation, trenching, soil testing, utility work, and helical pier and hollow bar pile installation. The operator works with crews to prepare work areas, locate utilities, and complete earthwork safely and efficiently. Accurate utility locating and safe equipment operation help protect crews and keep projects on schedule. Occasional overnight travel is required.

Requirements

Proven heavy equipment operation experience on construction sites, including construction utility work.
Ability to operate an excavator and backhoe.
Hands-on experience operating screw pile drivers and hydraulic track drills.
Mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining construction machinery.
Utility locating experience and solid knowledge of excavation and grading practices.
Willingness to travel overnight occasionally.
Strong commitment to safe driving and job site safety practices.

Nice To Haves

Loader and water truck experience.
Commercial driving experience (CDL).

Responsibilities

Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, water trucks, and other heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and utility work.
Support helical pier and hollow bar pile installation by preparing sites and coordinating equipment movements with the crew.
Perform grading, trenching, and other earthwork as needed.
Locate and mark utilities before digging; follow site plans and communicate hazards or changing conditions.
Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs, and report issues promptly.
Follow equipment safety procedures and applicable OSHA and federal construction safety regulations.
