About The Position

EMR is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to join its Lafayette depot. The role involves operating excavators to move and process metal in a fast-paced recycling environment. The operator performs equipment inspections and maintenance, follows safety protocols, and works outdoors in all weather conditions. Additional team duties may be assigned as needed. The role requires personal protective equipment and exposure to dust, fumes, and noise.

Requirements

• Previous experience with material handling and excavators is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, teamwork skills, and ability to multitask.
• Must pass a background check, physical, and drug screening.
• Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, a hard hat, high-visibility gear, and ear protection.
