About The Position

WM is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II to work at its waste disposal site in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role involves operating heavy equipment, including bulldozers, scrapers, and front-end loaders, at a waste management or recycling facility. Operators follow safety procedures, inspect and maintain equipment, move materials, and support site operations. The position is on-site in a shop or field environment, with workdays typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and possible overtime.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Must be over 18 years of age.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Ability to work independently and solve problems independently.
Accountability for following safety guidelines.
Good communication skills and willingness to support colleagues.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment in compliance with company operating safety policies and procedures.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance, and maintain accurate records.
Move and position raw materials and finished components using material-moving equipment.
Follow standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining vehicles.
Perform other duties as assigned.
