About The Position

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a great problem solver to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate likes to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will provide maintenance services for our production and shipping team on the day shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Requirements

Red Seal ticketed or equivalent Forklift / Heavy Duty Mechanic.
5 years of post-qualification experience is required
In-depth familiarity with forklift mechanics, with basic welding skills (ARC, TIG, MIG) and electric forklift background are required
Ability to carry out small repairs to tractor units and sundry shipping equipment
Strong attention to detail and a strong technical aptitude
Capable of working in a high-pressure environment, with the ability to multi-task
Excellent communication skills
Strong troubleshooting skills
Proven ability to use Microsoft Office and CMMS software

Nice To Haves

Experience with Toyota forklifts is an asset
Experience in manufacturing environment is an asset
Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S standards is an asset

Responsibilities

Assist in the regular maintenance and breakdown of mobile and manufacturing equipment
Preform and help build our Preventative maintenance program
Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics
Read and interpret drawings, machine parts from a sketch, sample or plans.
Install, move and modify equipment as required
Follow all maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes while always maintaining a safe work environment.
Continue to upgrade skills on an ongoing basis
Documenting all works carried out through our CMMS system
