About The Position

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and a great problem solver to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate likes to work in a fast-paced environment. This position will provide maintenance services for our production and shipping team on the day shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Requirements

  • Red Seal ticketed or equivalent Forklift / Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • 5 years of post-qualification experience is required
  • In-depth familiarity with forklift mechanics, with basic welding skills (ARC, TIG, MIG) and electric forklift background are required
  • Ability to carry out small repairs to tractor units and sundry shipping equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and a strong technical aptitude
  • Capable of working in a high-pressure environment, with the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to use Microsoft Office and CMMS software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Toyota forklifts is an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S standards is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the regular maintenance and breakdown of mobile and manufacturing equipment
  • Preform and help build our Preventative maintenance program
  • Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Read and interpret drawings, machine parts from a sketch, sample or plans.
  • Install, move and modify equipment as required
  • Follow all maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes while always maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Continue to upgrade skills on an ongoing basis
  • Documenting all works carried out through our CMMS system
