Heavy Duty Diesel Technicians are responsible for diagnosing truck problems and performing truck repairs. Technicians create repair plans and fill out parts requisitions for needed parts. They are also responsible for tagging all warranty parts that are replaced and for turning in parts with core value. Technicians must also communicate updates to their Foreman daily and must maintain toolboxes organized and workstations clean and safe. Technicians perform tasks and possess skills noted below and have efficiency ratings of 85% or above.   • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination (including a lift test), and background check

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing truck problems and performing truck repairs.
  • Creating repair plans and filling out parts requisitions for needed parts.
  • Tagging all warranty parts that are replaced and turning in parts with core value.
  • Communicating updates to their Foreman daily.
  • Maintaining toolboxes organized and workstations clean and safe.
  • Performing basic chassis repairs.
  • Performing basic engine repairs.
  • Removing & Installing chassis components.
  • Performing preventative maintenance.
  • Performing basic diagnostic skills.
  • Performing major vendor/factory repairs and procedures.
  • Performing most chassis repairs.
  • Performing most engine repairs.
  • Performing complete engine Remove & Install.
  • Performing advanced diagnostics.
  • Completing engine repairs within SRT time.
  • Performing complex chassis repairs within SRT time.
  • Performing all vehicle component repairs.
  • Diagnosing all vehicle component failures.
  • Performing root cause failure analysis.
  • Performing vibration analysis.
  • Performing aftertreatment repairs.
  • Performing aftertreatment diagnostics.
