About The Position
TCI Maintenance is hiring an experienced Diesel Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers in its Converse, Texas shop. The technician works under the direction of a Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor and diagnoses, repairs, removes, and replaces major truck and trailer components. The role requires handling assigned repairs with little or no supervision and completing dependable, quality work within established time standards. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift. Pay is $37.43 to $42.95 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or technical certification, or equivalent verifiable hands-on experience.
- Proficiency using shop tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Positive attitude and willingness to grow and participate in required online training.
Nice To Haves
- Current CDL with air brake certification; candidates without a CDL must be willing to obtain one.
- Specialized training in vehicle component repair and replacement.
- Basic computer skills for entering information into maintenance systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, remove, and replace major truck and trailer components under the direction of a Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Diagnose and repair or replace clutches and PTO systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, instruments, and gauges and restore proper operation.
- Identify problems and repair hydraulic and air brake systems.
- Diagnose and repair heating and air conditioning system malfunctions.
- Perform preventive maintenance services to help keep equipment road-ready.
- Complete dependable, quality repairs within established time standards.
- Participate in required, self-managed online training throughout employment.
