About The Position
TCI Maintenance is hiring an experienced Diesel Technician in Converse, Texas. Working under the direction of a Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor, the technician diagnoses, repairs, and removes or replaces major truck and trailer components, with little or no supervision. The role includes work on clutches and PTO systems, electrical systems and instruments, hydraulic and air brake systems, heating and air conditioning systems, and preventive maintenance. Repairs must meet quality expectations and be completed within established time standards. The position works Monday through Friday on the day shift and pays $37.43 to $42.95 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Requirements
- At least 6 years of practical tractor-trailer maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or technical certification, or equivalent verifiable hands-on experience.
- Proficiency using shop tools.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Positive attitude and willingness to grow.
Nice To Haves
- Current CDL with air brake certification; candidates without a CDL must be willing to obtain one.
- Specialized training in vehicle component repair and replacement.
- Basic computer skills for entering information into maintenance systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair clutches and PTO systems, including replacing components.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, instruments, and gauges and restore proper operation.
- Identify concerns in hydraulic and air brake systems and perform repairs.
- Diagnose and repair heating and air conditioning system malfunctions.
- Perform preventive maintenance services to keep equipment ready for the road.
- Remove or replace major truck and trailer components.
- Complete dependable repairs within established time standards.
- Participate in required, self-managed online training throughout employment.
