About The Position

Our growing mobile crane company is a leading company in the Tampa market. The Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic performs preventive maintenance and repairs on cranes and related components. The role requires diagnosing and working with electrical systems, drivetrains, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems. Periodic field travel is required, including collecting parts. A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a company service truck are needed. Overtime and some weekend work may be available but are not often required.

Requirements

Mechanic experience.
At least 3 years of mechanical diagnostic experience.
Experience or training in both electrical and mechanical fields.
Ability to drive a company service truck.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel periodically for field work.

Nice To Haves

Willingness to work overtime and some weekends, although this is not often required.

Responsibilities

Read diagrams, schematic drawings, service manuals, operating manuals, parts manuals, and blueprints to determine work procedures and understand equipment.
Carry out preventive maintenance programs.
Identify crane components.
Diagnose and work on electrical systems, drivetrains, engines, hydraulics, and computer-controlled systems.
Identify and request replacement parts needed to perform repairs.
Comply with safety and environmental requirements.
Examine parts for damage and excessive wear.
Travel periodically for field work and collect parts.
Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors and other personnel.
Drive a company service truck.
