About The Position

Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring a Heavy Diesel Technician/Mechanic for a full-time night-shift position in Juneau, Alaska. The role maintains heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts, and assists with major component swaps such as hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions. The schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a $3.00-per-hour shift differential. Requirements

Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work.
Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 100 pounds.
Ability to travel for short periods of time and work in outside weather conditions.
Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
Satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen are required for employment offers.

Responsibilities

Provide maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
Assist with major component swaps, including hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.
Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Carry out all duties with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
Be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
