About The Position

Alaska Marine Trucking, part of the Lynden family of companies, is hiring a full-time night-shift Mechanic in Juneau, Alaska. The position maintains heavy-duty equipment and assists with major component swaps. The schedule is 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with a $3.00-per-hour shift differential. Requirements

Must be able to apply for and be issued a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card).
Ability to show up to work on time and ready to work.
Detail-oriented, with good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift objects weighing as much as 100 pounds.
Ability to travel for short periods and work in outside weather conditions.
Employment offers are contingent on a satisfactory background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Maintain heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, trailers, and forklifts.
Assist with major component swaps, including hydraulic pumps, engines, and transmissions.
Perform inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Carry out duties with a strong commitment to excellent customer service.
