About The Position

This classification specification describes the journey level of the Healthy Homes Community Development Technician flexibly staffed series. Under general supervision, the employees are responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and paraprofessional duties associated with childhood lead poisoning prevention, asthma trigger reduction, accident prevention, and health-related housing programs, and performing related duties as required.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of full-time experience in the classification of a Healthy Homes Community Development Technician I in the Alameda County classified service.
  • Two (2) years full-time experience as Specialist Clerk I or equivalent or higher-level classification in the Alameda County classified service.
  • Three (3) years of full-time experience reviewing, underwriting, and processing application packages for program loans and grants; monitoring and ensuring program compliance for healthy homes projects; or related experience in public health education community development, or service-enriched housing programs.
  • Completion of 60 college semester or 90 quarter units, which included real estate financing and/or housing and community development-related courses from an accredited college or university, can be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience in pattern III.
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License.
  • May be required to drive in the performance of duties.
  • May be required to attend night and/or weekend meetings.
