About The Position

As a HealthMarket Clerk at Hy-Vee, you will help maintain fresh products and a clean, well-stocked department while welcoming and assisting customers. You will help customers locate products, make suggestions, and answer questions. For homeopathic and natural wellness products, assistance is limited to helping customers locate and access products; you must not provide medical instruction or advice on product use. The role involves monitoring product freshness and appearance, replenishing and rotating products, anticipating daily needs, receiving and putting away products, and reviewing invoices as needed. You will maintain sanitation and organization, remove trash, work with teammates to create a positive customer experience, follow company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies, and assist in other store areas or special projects as needed. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service throughout the store.
Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions; for homeopathic and natural wellness products, help customers locate and access products without giving medical instruction or advice on use.
Monitor product freshness and appearance; replenish and rotate products as needed.
Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
Check in and put away products, and review invoices as needed.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
