About The Position

The HealthMarket Clerk supports Hy-Vee’s HealthMarket department by keeping products fresh, the department clean and stocked, and customers welcomed and assisted. The role involves customer service, helping shoppers find and access products, suggesting products and answering questions, and assisting with homeopathic and natural wellness products without providing medical instruction or advice. The clerk monitors product appearance and freshness, replenishes and rotates products, anticipates daily needs, checks in deliveries, puts products away, reviews invoices as needed, follows sanitation procedures, and maintains an organized work area. The clerk also works with teammates, may help in other store areas or on special projects, and follows company dress, hygiene, and policy standards. Direction and support are provided by store leadership and the HealthMarket Department Manager. No prior experience is required; training and support are provided. Employment is contingent on successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
• Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
• Ability to stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department.
• Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required for employment.

• Up to six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service throughout the store.
• Help customers find products, reach items, carry heavy purchases, and relay feedback or requests to the team.
• Offer product suggestions and answer customer questions.
• Help customers locate and access homeopathic and natural wellness products without giving medical instruction or advice on product use.
• Monitor product freshness and appearance, and replenish and rotate products as needed.
• Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list.
• Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
• Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
• Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
• Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
