About The Position

The Arc of Union County Inc. is a leading provider of Person-Centered services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Adult Day and Residential Services. Reporting to the Director, Healthcare Supports Clinical or designate, the HealthCare Medical Secretary, Clinical (LPN) is responsible for supporting healthcare staff in coordinating and processing individuals’ health-related needs as indicated. Medication processing is an essential safety component directly linked to the health and safety of our service recipients. Medication processing and delivery are essential and must be managed at the main administrative building, with materials sent to specific programs as directed. The HealthCare Medical Secretary, Clinical (LPN) is responsible for processing prescriptions with the assigned Pharmacy, receiving medications, sorting medications, cross-referencing medications with the MAR in Therap System, following up with the Pharmacy, and communicating with the assigned Healthcare Support Professional and others as appropriate. The incumbent will order medical supplies/assistive devices, maintain medical records, record data relative to the individual’s health and medical issues, file medical records, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • An associate degree is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • An LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse) is required.
  • Three or more years of experience managing a group home is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of or strong familiarity with drug names and their usage.
  • Strong organization, communication, and computer skills required.
  • Demonstration of a thorough understanding of the knowledge, abilities, and skills outlined above.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of all DDD requirements.
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive and perform in an ever-changing, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license and abstract (not to exceed 5 points), and the ability to meet agency insurability requirements.
  • Complete State/Federal Criminal Background checks and Central Registry checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy technician or healthcare background preferred.
