About The Position

Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is seeking a full-time Day Shift Security Officer to provide professional security coverage at healthcare facilities in the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, SC area. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe and secure environment during peak hours, managing high-volume traffic, coordinating with clinical staff, and responding to incidents. Day shift officers are the primary point of contact for security, requiring strong communication skills, a professional presence, and the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced medical setting.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Clean criminal background — must pass SLED background check
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
• Availability to work day shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform foot patrols
• High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

• SC SLED Armed Security Officer Registration
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience
• Healthcare facility security experience
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or similar de-escalation certification
• Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide security coverage at healthcare facilities during daytime hours
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor and patient entry
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of medical center campuses
• Respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, and behavioral health situations
• De-escalate situations involving patients, visitors, and staff using professional judgment
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems throughout the facility
• Coordinate with hospital administration, nursing staff, and law enforcement
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
• Communicate effectively with hospital staff, law enforcement, and CSSI dispatch
