About The Position

Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is hiring a full-time overnight Security Officer to provide professional security coverage at healthcare facilities in the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton, SC area. The role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment at medical centers and emergency departments during overnight hours, a critical time when staffing is limited and situations can escalate quickly. Overnight officers are the primary security presence, handling after-hours access control, emergency response, and facility lockdown procedures.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid SC SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Clean criminal background — must pass SLED background check
Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
Availability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and composure under pressure
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and perform foot patrols
High school diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

SC SLED Armed Security Officer Registration
Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience
Healthcare facility security experience
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or similar de-escalation certification
Familiarity with access control systems, CCTV, and incident reporting

Responsibilities

Provide security coverage at healthcare facilities during overnight hours
Monitor and control access points, verify credentials, and manage after-hours entry
Conduct interior and exterior patrols of medical center campuses
Respond to security incidents, medical emergencies, and behavioral health situations
De-escalate situations involving patients, visitors, and staff using professional judgment
Monitor CCTV and alarm systems throughout the facility
Execute facility lockdown and emergency procedures as required
Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation
Communicate effectively with hospital staff, law enforcement, and CSSI dispatch
