About The Position

Our client is seeking a Healthcare IT Systems Engineer specializing in Cardiology. This role involves managing technical projects, overseeing system designs and implementations, ensuring system performance and reliability, and troubleshooting complex technical issues within the Cardiology IT functional area. The position requires independent work in a professional IT environment, leading technical implementation efforts, providing training to clinical end users, and managing system development, enhancement, and maintenance projects. Responsibilities also include monitoring system performance, providing reports, performing problem analysis, and maintaining documentation. The role involves technical development, testing, and implementing changes to support scripts and interface engine environments, developing and conducting unit and system tests, and application testing. Additionally, the engineer will provide business and technical guidance to other IS staff, programming support for departmental systems, and create/maintain project plans and documentation. The position may involve telecommunications technical expertise, researching and designing interfaces between systems, and developing/testing/implementing interface engine changes. Training clinical end users, coordinating application developments, and providing support during non-working hours for a 24x7 environment are also key aspects. This position involves on-call responsibility on a rotating schedule.

Requirements

  • Degree or major in Computer Science (Preferred)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Experience with Cardiology IT apps such as Syngo Dynamics, MUSE, ISCV
  • Knowledge of Networking: TCP/IP environment
  • Provides Tier 3 Applications Support
  • Experience with Cloud Services: AWS, Azure
  • Experience with Cardiology specific Artificial Intelligence
  • Three to five years of previous work-related experience in the Clinical IT space
  • Knowledge of one or more Operating Systems and Databases: Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Oracle, SQL
  • Knowledge of Programming Languages where applicable: C++, Java, HTML, Python, or other
  • Knowledge of Health and Imaging protocols and applications: HL7 protocol, DICOM, EPIC

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage technical projects within the functional area of Cardiology IT.
  • Oversee the technical designs, implementations, analysis, and modifications of new/existing programs and systems for business or patient care needs.
  • Ensure the performance, integrity, and reliability of systems components.
  • Work independently in a professional, information technology environment to oversee complex specialized technology.
  • Troubleshoot (hands-on) complex technical issues and advise on/implement corrective actions.
  • Lead technical implementation efforts involving multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide training to clinical end users.
  • Manage relevant systems development, enhancement, and maintenance projects.
  • Monitor system performance and response times.
  • Provide reports to management and users as required.
  • Perform problem analysis and troubleshooting, and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Provide technical development and testing and implement changes and enhancements to support scripts, or other changes to the interface engine environments.
  • Develop test plans, test data, and testing schedules.
  • Conduct unit and system tests to verify results of technology solutions.
  • Conduct applications testing, including compiling test scripts.
  • Provide business-related and technical guidance to other IS staff in the development and support of other IS systems.
  • Provide programming support for the relevant departmental systems, subsystems, and related software products, in support of clinical and operational clients.
  • Create, update, and maintain project plans, provide design and installation/support documentation.
  • As needed, create or modify change management procedures as per departmental standards.
  • Design, configure, and install new programs, modifications, or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Perform analysis of business and user needs, document requirements, and revise existing system logic as necessary.
  • Train end users in the use of equipment and software.
  • Install/Perform in-house and vendor updates, in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with IS change control standards and procedures.
  • May provide telecommunications technical expertise and support to users within the Hospital.
  • Maintain current documentation on all specified systems.
  • May research, plan, and design interfaces between a wide variety of systems to support clinical and business needs of the Hospital.
  • Develop, test, document, and implement changes and enhancements to existing interfaces, support scripts, or other changes to the interface engine environment.
  • Train clinical end users.
  • Coordinate applications developments and migrations with developers from multiple teams.
  • Provide support during non-working hours to ensure the operations of production systems in a 24 x 7 environment, if needed.
  • Position involves on-call responsibility on a rotating schedule.
